Services for Ann Willis, 66, of Brownfield will be 2pm, Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors from 6-7pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Ann passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 in a Lubbock Hospital. She was born June 17, 1944 in Brownfield to D. O. “Shorty” and Jean Baggett Neal. She graduated from Brownfield High School in 1962. Ann married Kenneth Willis on February 29, 1964 in Brownfield. Ann has worked several places in Brownfield; Brownfield News, Sears, Brownfield General Hospital and for A.H. Daniell, MD. In 1970 Ann graduated from Isbell’s Beauty School and worked as a beautician at Magic Mirror for Betty Murphy. On July 22, 1974, Ann began working for County Clerk, Frank Gray, as a deputy. When Frank retired Ann was appointed the first woman County Clerk in 1985. Ann was a member of the Noon Lions where she served as the first woman president of that club. She also was named Terry County Citizen of the Year in 1994. She served as Brownfield Chamber of Commerce President in 1997 and 1998. She was also president of the Children’s Protective Services Board, having served on that board for more than 20 years. Ann is preceded in death by her father.

Ann is survived by her husband Kenneth; a son, Kevin Willis; a daughter, Kendra Kevil; 4 grandchildren, Alexis Willis, Kylen Willis, Korey Kevil and Kaley Kevil; her mother, Jean Neal, all of Brownfield; 2 brothers, Dwayne Neal of Brownfield and Allen Neal and wife Lorene of Carlsbad, CA.
