Services for Armando S. Vasquez, Sr., 89, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Msgr. James Oconnor officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Armando passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 in Lubbock. He was born on November 22, 1924 in Comstock, TX to Gavino Vasquez and Maria Saldivar Vasquez. He was a farmer. Armando married Olivia Bravo in 1952 in Del Rio. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olivia; a son, Victor Vasquez, Sr.; 2 brothers, Gavino Vasquez and Jose Vasquez.

Armando is survived by 2 sons, Reynaldo Vasquez of Lubbock and Armando Vasquez, Jr. of Brownfield; 4 daughters, Maricella Garcia and husband Pedro of Brownfield, Hilda Vasquez of Brownfield, Silvia Bautista and husband Juan of Melissa, TX, Sally Castillo and husband Seberiano of Lubbock; a daughter-in-law, Anita Vasquez of Lubbock; 4 sisters, Maria Vasquez of Goodland, KS, Elvira Aleman of El Paso, Erlinda Aqular of Goodland, KS, Consulo Gonzalez of Albuquerque, NM; 25 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
