Barbara Ann Fillingim

Services for Barbara Ann Fillingim, 60, of Brownfield will be at 2pm, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Patrick, Eddie McHugh and Jerald Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation from 5-7pm Wednesday at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Barbara passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, January 21, 2013 in Lubbock. She was born July 8, 1952 in Lubbock to Joseph Russ and Shirley Shand Kent. She graduated from Coronado High School. Barbara married Wayne Fillingim on October 12, 1968 at Lakeview Baptist Church. She worked for the Sherriff and Police Departments as a dispatcher. She also worked as an Activities Director at both Nursing Homes in Brownfield. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Barbara raised three beautiful children to be as caring as she was herself. She always put everyone before herself.

Barbara is survived by her husband Wayne of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Connie and Tamberly; a son, Robby; grandchildren, Abby, Andrew, Hannah, Lauren, Ashlyn and Ryan; her mother, Shirley; a sister, Linda; a brother, Robert; a son-in-law, Matt; a daughter-in-law, Vanessa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father; a brother, Dennis Russ Kent; her baby sister, Jeanie Kent.

The family suggests memorials to Gideon’s International or Immanuel Baptist Church in Brownfield.
