Beatrice Sherrill Brown

October 16, 1921 — March 3, 2014

Beatrice Sherrill Brown 92 of San Angelo, TX left this earth to be with the Lord on March 3, 2014. Bea was born on October 16, 1921 at home on the farm in Slaton, Texas to John and Myrtle Sherrill. She was the sixth of eight children born to her parents. Bea grew up in Draw, Texas where she graduated from Draw High School. She then went on to graduate from Texas Technological College in 1943 with a degree in teaching.

Bea married and had one daughter, Gail. Most of Bea's teaching career was in Brownfield, Texas and she retired from Brownfield ISD in 1982. After retirement Bea discovered a love of traveling. She was fortunate to be able to go to Australia, Figi, Alaska, and Hawaii. She met many life long friends along the way.

In 2000 Bea moved to the Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo, Texas to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She again made many new and close friendships with the retirement residents. Before macular degeneration took most of her eyesight, she loved baking goodies to share with friends and neighbors. She was truly a caring friend and was quick to offer a helping hand to those in need. Bea was a loving mother and grandmother. She will greatly be missed by all those left to cherish her memory. Those going before Bea, where her parents, her brothers, X.L., Gus, Ronald J.E. and Paul Sherrill. Her sisters Myrl Mathis and Etha Mae Caswell and great-gradson Michael Brandon Isbell. Bea is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gail and Clyde Harris, grand-children Ronnie Mackey, Eric Mackey and Tammy Mackey, great-grandchildren Brittany, Jimmy, Kelsey, Shylynn, and a special great great grandson Kaiden and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be 1pm Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Brownfield Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven in Lubbock under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Many thanks go to Frances Swann for loving mother and for helping care for her over the years.
