Bertha Marsh, 96, of Brownfield passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at her home. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Day officiating. Interment will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Bertha was born on April 3, 1913 in Del Kalb, TX to Willie Wesley and Sarah Francis Day. She married Willie Richard Marsh "Bill" on October 3, 1930 in Ovalo, TX. They moved to Brownfield in 1942. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers, Leo, Horace, Mutt, Pete, Henry, William, Billy Jack and Wayne Day; and 4 sisters, Dorothy, Dovie, Doris and Oceal. She was a Baptist.
Bertha is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Jo Hungerford and Shirley Ridlehuber of Brownfield; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Ruby Groves of Brownfield and Wanda Lenderman of Tatum, NM.
