Celia R. Valdez

Services for Celia R. Valdez, 63, of Brownfield will be at 10:00 am, Monday, February 8, 2010 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Celia passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born December 8, 1946 in Sugar Land, Texas to Benito and Dolores Rivera. She moved to Brownfield in the 60's. Celia married Inoe Valdez on July 30, 1966 in Brownfield. She was often refered to as the "Burrito Lady." She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maria Rodriguez and Dolores Rivera; two brothers, Jesse Rivera and Willie Rivera.

Celia is survived by her husband Inoe of Brownfield; five sons, Inoe Valdez, Jr. and wife Patricia of Denver City, Alex Valdez and wife Dora of Brownfield, Danny Valdez and wife Gabriella of Dumas, Richard Valdez of Brownfield and Mark Valdez and wife Clarissa of Brownfield; three daughters, Silvia Martinez, Brenda Valdez and Sandra Valdez all of Brownfield; two brothers, Benito Rivera, Jr. and Paul Ramirez of the Houston area; a sister, Carolyn Moreno of Brownfield; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
