Charlie Douglas Caswell

Services for Charlie Douglas Caswell, 94, of Meadow will be held 2p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Meadow First Baptist Church with Ken McClung officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Charlie was born September 23, 1917 to Charlie Douglas and Bessie Mae (Walls) Caswell in Sunset. Charlie married his wife of 64 years, Rowena Clemmer on April 18, 1948 in Meadow. He loved the Lord, his church, family, and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charlie served in the South Pacific in World War Two. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Meadow First Baptist for many years. Charlie also farmed until he was 92. He is preceded by a son Dennis Caswell, his parents, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Those left to mourn his loss are his wife, Rowena Caswell, of Meadow; 2 sons, Steve Caswell of Meadow, Daniel Caswell and wife Tina of Lubbock; daughter, Linda Barron and husband, Owen, of Lamesa; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Auvanell Parrish; 4 brothers, Cletus, Olan, Norman, and Neil Caswell.

Charlie’s favorite charities were Meadow First Baptist Church, Children’s home of Lubbock and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
