Clifford Niles, 82, of Brownfield passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Lubbock. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating.

Clifford was born on November 15, 1927 in Beaver, OK to Harry and Grace Niles. He graduated from Beaver High School. He received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Southwestern State in Weatherford, OK. He then began teaching and coaching in Wellington, TX where he married Fern Jones on December 26, 1953. Together they moved to Brownfield in 1954 where he taught, coached, and was the vocational director for the Brownfield Independent School District for 36 years, retiring in 1990 with a total of 41 years teaching experience. He received his Masters of Education Degree from West Texas State in Canyon, TX in 1957. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Terry County Retired Teachers Association, Masonic Lodge 903, where he served as past worshipful master, a member of the Lubbock Scottish Right 32nd Degree,TSTA and a past member of the Brownfield Lion's Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 2 brothers, Karl and Kenneth Niles.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Fern Niles of Brownfield; his daughter, Nan Crowson and her husband Andy of Belton, TX; 2 sisters, Naomi Hinckley of Sedona, AZ and Marie Jackson of Borger; 2 brothers, Earl Niles of San Antonio and Dean Niles of Edmond, OK and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church of Brownfield.
