Clifton Wood

Services for Henry Clifton Wood, 93, of Brownfield will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Seagraves Cemetery at 1:30 pm, under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Clifton passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 in Brownfield. He was born August 13, 1915 in Ford County, Texas to Shelby and Emily Wood. He moved to O'Donnell in 1920. He attended school in Wells. He moved to Brownfield in 1938. Clifton married Lakeland Walser on August 17, 1939 in Brownfield. He farmed and operated heavy equipment for Gaines County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Helen Wood in 2005.

Clifton is survived by his wife Lakeland of Brownfield; two sons, Robert Wood and Wendell Wood and his wife Brenda all of Seagraves; two daughters, Helen Rice of Kingston, TN. and Debbie Hamilton and her husband Dwight of Midland; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assoc.
