Dora Evone Spears

Services for Dora Evone Spears will be held at 2pm Monday, June 22, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Evone passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Brownfield. She was born April 13, 1937 in Vernon to George T. and Maudie D. Roberts. Evone attended Vernon Schools. She married Wayne Eugene Spears on August 18, 1960 in Hobbs, NM. She lived in Brownfield for 60 years. Evone was the director of the XYZ Club for over 20 years. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Evone loved her family, holidays and cooking for everyone. She especially loved her grandbabies.

Evone is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; 2 sisters, Shirley Ann Roberts, Bernice Barringer; 4 brothers, A.B. Green, Bill Green, Doyle Roberts, Wayne Roberts; and grandson, Dustin Forrest Smith.

Evone is survived by her children, Olen Dodson and wife, Jan, Robert Rockwell, Glenda Smith, Maudie Kidd, Audrie Willis and husband, Glenn, all of Brownfield; sister, Vina Mason of Lovington, NM; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
