Edna Mae Peek Bost, 100, of Lubbock passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 in Lubbock. She was a former resident of Brownfield, TX for 65 years. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Brownfield, TX with Rev. Ruby Moultrie and Rev. Don McWhorter officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Royse City Cemetery in Royse City, Texas with Rev. Cathy Partridge officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family will have visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Edna Mae Peek Bost was born on September 27, 1909 to Henry Franklin Peek and Perilee Holliday Peek in Fate, Rockwall County, Texas where she completed high school. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of North Texas, in Denton, TX. She began her teaching career in Fate,TX and continued in her chosen profession for 45 years, 29 of these years were in Brownfield and Union, TX. She also taught private kindergarten for 8 years. She married John A. Bost of Brownfield on June 14, 1937 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockwall, TX. She became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brownfield in 1937 where she served in many capacities. She taught Sunday school, served on the Commission of Ministries and on the official board, where she was an honorary member. Edna was also a member of the order of the Eastern Star; a lifetime member of the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers; the Texas Retired Teachers; Terry County Retired Teachers; National Retired Teachers; a member of the XYZ Club and served on the board as membership chairman. She worked for many years with Brownies, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and many other organizations.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John A. Bost on February 11, 1990, her parents and 5 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kuykendall of Dallas; 2 sons, John Bost and wife Sherry of Lubbock; Bob Bost of Georgetown, TX; 10 grandchildren, Steve Kuykendall and wife Beth, Sh'Rae Doyle and husband Jim, KiKi Greenleaf and husband Andy, Brian Bost and wife Brandie, Laura Moore and husband Scott, Stacy Bost, Ashlee Bost, Andrew Bost, Cullen Bost and Zack Bost; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
