Flora Mae Rogers, 95, of Brownfield passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Puryear officiating.

Flora was born on May 4, 1914 in Pyron, Nolan County, TX to Lonnie A. and Gracie Light. She attended schools in Roscoe, TX until 1922, when the family moved to New Moore, Tx. She married J.F. "Preacher" Rogers, Jr. on November 3, 1928 at O'Donnell, TX. Together they had 3 children. They farmed, owned and operated the New Moore Grocery Store, and managed the New Moore Gin and Foster Gin. After Preacher's death on May 28, 1962, Flora worked in the Union Gin office for Doyle Moss for 27 years. Flora had lived in Brownfield since 1962. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son; L.O. "Sonny" Rogers; a granddaughter; a great grandson; a brother and 2 sisters.

Flora is survived by 2 daughters, Joann Stewart of Lubbock and Francis "Babe" Puryear of Brownfield; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.

The family will gather Wednesday afternnon at Flora Mae's house to greet visitors. 1014 E. Oak, Brownfield, TX 79316.
