George W. Wendy Roberts

George Wendell Roberts, 80, of Brownfield passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Lubbock. Services will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brit Atkins and Rev. Travis Curry officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Wendell was born September 16, 1929 in Boone, Okalahoma to Guymon J. and Viola Roberts. He moved to Brownfield in 1959. Wendell married Lora Virginia "Ginger" Day in Brownfield on June 4, 1959. He was a farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky Roberts and a brother Wayne Roberts.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ginger Roberts of Brownfield; a son, E.W. Heathcoat and wife Wanda of Odessa; two daughters, Gayle Cunnington and husband Guy of Denver, CO. and Brenda Turnbow and husband Byron of Brownfield; two brothers, Don Roberts and Gary Roberts both of Lawton, OK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joanna Roberts of Toms River, NJ.
