Services for Gonzalo Gonzalez, 86, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Rosary will be at Brownfield Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8pm.

Gonzalo passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Brownfield. He was born on January 10, 1927 in Helena, Texas to Pablo and Margarita (Mireles) Gonzalez. Gonzalo married Emma Sanchez on April 21, 1945 in Karnes City. He worked as an oil field operator. His hobbies include baseball, fishing with his grandkids, playing bingo, bowling with his sons and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the Lu Lac Organization. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Gonzalo is survived by his wife, Emma of Brownfield; his children, Raymond Gonzales and wife Mary of Brownfield, Gonzalo Gonzales Jr. and wife Lolie of Hurst, Paula Acosta and husband Jose of Brownfield, Joe Gonzales and wife Celicia of Lubbock, Robert Gonzales and wife Frances of Brownfield, Ricky Gonzales and wife Irma of Brownfield, Raul Gonzales and wife Patty of Arlington and Rebecca Mata and husband Lupe of Brownfield; 52 grandchildren;44 great grandchildren; a brother, Sermin Rivas and wife Carolina of Plains and 2 sisters, Andrea Leon of Brownfield and Lupe Martinez of Merkel.
