Harold will be in state for viewing at Sanders Funeral Home, Lubbock, TX from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.Tuesday, June 22nd. A viewing will also be held at Brownfield Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Services for Harold Dayle Boston, 96, of Lubbock will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 102 W. Tate, in Brownfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield.

Harold Dayle "Snooks" passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born August 30, 1913 in Whitesboro, TX to Ben and Leah Chisum Boston. He attended school in Whitesboro until the age of thirteen when he moved to Wellington and graduated from High School in 1929. He moved to Lubbock in 1933 with his family and operated a wholesale candy business. He met Marion Alice Chisholm at her father’s grocery store. On June 17, 1938, they were married in Brownfield, TX where they resided until moving to Lubbock in 2003 to be near their children. Marion was his partner, sweetheart, and the love of his life for over 67 years. After five years of marriage he was called into service during World War II. He was an infantry man in the U.S. Army. Harold was involved in combat in the European Theatre including Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. During his service he received severe injuries for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. Boston was an active member of the V.F.W and the American Legion.

H.D. and his wife owned and operated Boston’s Super Dog and Restaurant until retirement in 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion Alice October 2, 2005; a grandson, Michael Hulse in 1995; and five siblings.

Survivors include three daughters, Jo Bess Burris and husband Mark, Nancy McCutcheon, and Dee Ann Hulse and husband Leland; Popsy and Granny loved their grandchildren, Dayle Burris, Lori Watts, Tim White, Nancy Schroeder, Lisa Burris, Jason White, Leanne Summers and Christopher Hulse; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Donley; many nieces and nephews and Minnie, his little dog.
