Services for Jerry Lee Johnson, 63, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds and Bo Shero officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation from 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home.

Jerry passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Brownfield after a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1948 in Brownfield to Jesse “Dick” and Lanell Johnson. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1966. Jerry married Jodi Brookey in 1983 in Brownfield. He began a law enforcement career in 1972 with Terry County Sheriff’s office reserve program. In 1975 he entered full-time law enforcement with the Brownfield Police Department. He worked with Brownfield Police Department for many years. Jerry became Sheriff of Terry County in 1989 until 2008. After his 20 years with the Sheriff’s office he became Terry County’s Justice of the Peace. He presently held that position. He was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Brownfield. He was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jodi of Brownfield; 4 children, Rachele Milenski and husband Eric of Woodward, OK, Scott Davis and Norma Garcia of Lubbock, Jeff Davis and wife Ofelia of Brownfield and James Davis of Lamesa; grandchildren, Elliott Davis, Melissa Davis, Austin Davis, Christopher Davis, Ashlee Jo Milenski, Jeffrey Davis and Cole Milenski.
