Services for Jose Roel DeLuna, 79, of Lubbock will be held 10am Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Jose was born May 13, 1934 to Valeriano and Rosaura Rojas DeLuna in Alice. He is a Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Jose married Lillie Rosario DeLuna June 6, 1969 in Brownfield. He is a volunteer at a local organization.
Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, a son, Roel DeLuna, and two grandchildren, Jolynn Grimaldo and Claudia DeLuna.
Jose is survived by 2 daughters, Melissa Grimaldo and husband, Perfecto, of Brownfield, Cynthia Garza and husband, Israel Guerra, of Lubbock; 2 sons, Manuel DeLuna of Lubbock, Cruz DeLuna and wife, Sonia Leal, of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren;1 brother, Valeriano Luna; 2 sisters, Alicia Moses, Nori French; and honorary sister, Bruni McKenzie.
