Kitty Halsell, 82, of Brownfield passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Tahoka Road Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds officiating.
Kitty will not be in state for viewing. A book will be availabe to sign at the funeral home from 12-8pm Sunday.
Kitty was born on July 13, 1927 in Pie Town, New Mexico to Leslie and Beulah Thomas. She married Lonnie Leon Halsell on August 21, 1951 in Alamagordo, NM. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003. Kitty is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth and Leslie Thomas, Jr. and her sister, Peggy Thomas. She worked for the school system for several years as well as lawn maintainance throughout Brownfield. She was a member of Tahoka Road Church of Christ.
Kitty is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Dodson and Brenda Keener; 8 sons, Dan, Larry, Kelven "PeeWee", Cecil, Brad, Gary, James and Carl Halsell; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Ruth Halsell, Opal Benasco, Virginia Thomas, Norain Hendricksen and Neta Brand; and 3 brothers, Leon, I.C. and Paul Thomas.
