Services for LaVada Lee Jones, 88, formerly of Brownfield will be at 10:30 am, Friday, February 29, 2008 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
LaVada passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 in Ft. Worth. She was born July 15, 1919 in Medicine Mound, TX to Major Lee and Ida C. Handley. She moved with her parents to Meadow in 1923. She attended school in Meadow, Tahoka and graduated from Lubbock High School. She then attended and graduated from Draughns Business College in Dallas. She married Cliff Jones, October 15, 1938 in Paducah. He preceded her in death November 25, 1983. She was a member of Eastern Star and Brownfield Church of Christ. LaVada is also preceded in death by her son Robert Jones in 1995.
She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar Jones of Stephenville, Kenneth Jones of Grandbury, Juanelle McDaniel of Lubbock and Mary Ann Barron of Lamesa; several nieces and nephews.
