Leo Adolph Wenzel, 83, of Brownfield passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating. Interment will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Leo was born on February 11, 1926 in Clifton, TX to Adolf and Alma Wenzel. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1944 serving in Iwo Jima and receiving a WWII Purple Heart. He then married Mary Ellen O'Neal on February 2, 1949 in Brownfield. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2007. Leo farmed throughout Terry County many years. He was also employed with the City of Brownfield Electric for over 17 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Leo is survived by his 2 daughters, Theresa Berne and her husband Ed of McKinney and Virginia Wenzel of Littlefield and his sister, Lorena Welch of Levelland; numerous nieces and nephews.
