Lera Pearl Hanson

Services for Lera Hanson, 91, of Brownfield will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Shady Oaks Church of God with Rev. Eugene Ballard and Rev. Roger Reston officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Lera passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 in Brownfield. She was born December 28, 1917 in Madison County, Texas to Jesse George and Winnie Harriette Stucker. She married Wayne Preston Hanson on March 23, 1938 in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1979. Lera had retired from the Brownfield Independent School District. She worked for over 31 years as Cafeteria Manager with the schools. She was a member of Shady Oaks Church of God. Lera is also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Hanson, three brothers and two sisters.

Lera is survived by a daughter, Janice Reaves of Hobbs, NM; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hanson of Midland; two brothers, Jesse Stucker of La Marida, CA. and Luther Stucker of Abilene; a sister, Georgie Robertson of Brownfield;
4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
