Service for Lindon Click, 90, of Brownfield will be held at 2pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Church of Christ at S. Howell and E. Hester with Jerry Sanders officiating. A Private burial will follow at Sundown Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 on Wednesday at Brownfield Funeral Home. Lindon L. Click was born November 6, 1923 to Louis and Rowena Click on Baby Head Mountain near San Saba, Texas. He graduated early from high school in Sundown, Texas so that he could serve his country during World War II. He was a sergeant and radio operator in the Philippines. He received a commendation letter from President Truman for his service and skills among numerous other awards. Although his memories of the war tormented him from time to time, he was proud of his service. He was married to Daphne Claborn on October 4, 1946 in Sundown, Texas. This past October was their 67th anniversary. He became a member of Gods family early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ. He helped build the church building in Sundown in 1954 and helped start a church on the Navajo Reservation at Farmington, New Mexico. As a kind and loving Christian, he had a positive influence on all the lives he touched. His professional career involved working in the oilfields in Sundown and Big Lake, Texas and retired as a Production Supervisor for AMOCO in Farmington, New Mexico in 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louena Field of Levelland, and three infant brothers. Survivors include his wife Daphne of Brownfield, a son Phil Click and wife Cindy of Midland, a son Mike Click and wife Paula of Brownfield, and a daughter Teri Burton and husband Ammon of Farmington, New Mexico. Grandchildren Kim Escobedo and Steve Click of Midland, Texas, Melanie Ridenour of Brownfield, Kacey Gutierrez and Rachel Cerritos of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Great grandchildren include Tanner and Seth Coffman, Eden and Garren Escobedo of Midland, Maggie Ridenour of Brownfield, and Cisco and Delilah Gutierrez of Albuquerque.
