Margarita Rodriguez Grimaldo

Services for Margarita Rodriguez Grimaldo, 79, of Brownfield will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Leatham officiating.

A rosary will be held from 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Margarita was born on December 18, 1935 in Austin. She moved to Brownfield where she met the love of her life, Francisco Grimaldo, Sr. They were married for 58 years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for many years, where she was a Guadalupana and a Cursillista. In 2008, she moved to Lubbock, where she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, Margarito, her parents, 2 sisters, a brother and a grandson.
The family would like to express their sincere and grateful thanks to Drs. Kadiyala, Robertson and Zias and the Covenant Medical Center staff for their love and care of our mother.

Margarita is survived by her 3 sons, Bonifacio, Francisco, Jr. (Graviela) and Johnny (Silvia); 6 daughters, Andrea Rangel (Joe), Delfina Ramirez (Fred), Mona Lisa Garcia (Rickey), Marta Alvarado (Zeke), Josie Garza (Juan), Maria Melgar (Luis); 47 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Eugene, Jose, Leonardo and Lazaro Rodriguez; a sister, Ernestine Sotello; 3 sister-in-laws, whom she loved dearly and considered them sisters: Ana Maria Salas, Guadalupe Mesquias and Narisa Rendon; her dearest friend, Julie Rodriguez and several loving nieces and nephews.
