Services for Margie Webb Black, 79, of Brownfield will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael R. Gee officiating. A private burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Margie passed from this life on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in Brownfield. She was born November 6, 1929 in Wheeler, Texas to Wesley and Annie Bradfute Brasher. She graduated from Spur High School. Margie married Jay Judge Webb of Spur in February of 1948, following his return from the Navy and WWII. Together they had four sons. They lived in Spur, Union and finally Brownfield. They farmed and ran the country store at Union for many years until finally relocating to Brownfield. Margie retired as a secretary from Brownfield Reginal Medical Center. Judge preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1992. Margie and her friends enjoyed going to the area dances where she met Harold Black of Andrews, Texas. Margie and Harold were married November 28, 1997 in Brownfield. Margie never knew a stranger and took in more kids than God gave her the ability to have, yet she had enough love for the whole world. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Judge Webb.

Margie is survived by her husband Harold Black of Brownfield; 4 sons and their wives, Steve and Paula Webb of Burleson, Glenn and Lana Webb of Brownfield, Danny and Susan Webb of Ozona and Tracy and Donna Webb of Lockney; a foster daughter, Angelia Perez and husband Bobby of Levelland; a foster son, Ramon Soliz of Brownfield; four step-sons, Harold Black Jr. of Solbatna, Alaska, Vernon Black of Kenai, Alaska, Ronald Poston of Houston and Gary Poston of Odessa; a brother, Robert W. "Bob" Brasher and his wife Charlene of Idalou; 12 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie will be in state Monday from 9am - 8pm.
