Services for Maxine Parker, 86, of Brownfield will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 17, 2009 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Land officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 18, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, OK with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Maxine passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in Littlefield. She was born March 27, 1923 in Hickory, OK to W. M. and Lena Skelton. She graduated from Hickory High School. She then received a Business Degree. Maxine married Clifford Parker on January 12, 1946 in Sulphur, OK. She did bookkeeping, helped with Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the nursing home. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Maxine is survived by her husband Clifford; a niece, Nelda Blackwell and her husband James of Littlefield; a nephew, Burl Pittman and his wife Melanie of Canadian; 3 grand-nephews, 2 grand-nieces and 8 great-grand nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Brownfield First Baptist Church.
