Pate F. Collier, 93, of Brownfield passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Brownfield. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Pate was born on August 25, 1916 in Junction, TX to Allen and Carrie Collier. He moved to Brownfield as a child where he graduated from high school. He joined the United States Army in 1941 serving in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Pate then married Oneida Proctor on October 5, 1946 in Brownfield. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Lance Collyn Criswell in 1980. He was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, American Legion and past member of Oddfellows.
Pate is survived by his son, Coleman Collier and wife Cheryl of Krugerville, TX; his daughter, Claudette Schultz of Brownfield; 3 grandchildren, Derrick Gene Toon, Camron D. Collier and Cody Lee Collier; 3 great grandchildren, Hart Daniel Collier, Cerin Lynne Collier and Payton Ray Collier and his brother, Stuart "Shorty" Collier.
