A memorial service to celebrate the life of Patsy "Nana" Carol Sims, 65, of Brownfield will be at 2pm, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Craig and Cherise Felty officiating. Private burial will be under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors immediately following the service at the church.

Patsy passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Runningwater Draw Care Center under the care of their amazing staff and with her family at her side. She was born August 8, 1945 in Lamesa to Hoy Evert and Bertha (Burkham) Hancock. She attended Union Schools. Patsy married the love of her life, Larry D. Sims on March 3, 1962 in Foster. They lived in Wellman and then in Brownfield. Their lives were dedicated to farming, raising their children and later spoiling their grandchildren. Patsy was passionate about being a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and follower of Jesus Christ. She lived her life in service to others. She spent many hours volunteering in her children's schools and various church activities. When she was unable to physically serve others due to a long battle with MS, she continued to care for others through her prayers and willingness to listen. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Hancock.

Patsy is survived by her husband Larry D. Sims of Brownfield; 4 children, Doug and wife Tillery of Brownfield, Danna Wilbourn and husband Mark of Amarillo, Donna Fleischman and husband Gary of Laramie, WY. and Denise Boynton and husband Brooks of Roscoe; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Hancock and wife Sammie of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Anita Hancock of Brownfield.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Runningwater Draw Care Center, P. O. Box 409, Olton, TX. 79064
