Services for John Paul Turner, 89, of Brownfield will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Addington officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Paul passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at his home in Brownfield. He was born May 16, 1918 in Broken Bow, OK. to Joseph and Emma Turner. He and his family moved to Big Spring in 1930. He attended Big Spring Schools. He married Bobbye Thompson, June 6, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas. They moved to Brownfield in 1954. Paul ran Foster Gin from 1962 until it closed in 1993. He farmed for over 53 years, retiring in 2000. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of First United Methodist Church. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Burgner; a brother, Jim Turner and a grandson, Paul Glenn Grimes. Family and friends will be pallbearers.

Paul is survived by his wife Bobbye of Brownfield; three daughters, Bobbye Jo Floyd and husband Ronnie, Paula Grimes of Abilene and Cheryl Purtell of Lubbock; three sisters, Clote Reynolds of Houston, Edwina Stewart and Geneva Kisor and her husband Bob all of Abilene; a brother, Delmer Turner of Big Spring; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will be in state Wednesday, December 26th from 8am-Noon.
