Services for Paula Ann Steele, 66, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Brownfield First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Reeder officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Paula passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Ruidoso, NM. She was born October 9, 1944 to Wayne and Pauline (Hall) McKinney in Greenville, TX. She moved to Brownfield in 1952. She attended Brownfield Schools. Paula married James “Buzz” Steele on Aug 4, 1973 in Brownfield. She was a member of Brownfield First Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her father, Wayne McKinney and step-father, Claude Cannaday; a brother, Jimmy McKinney.
Paula is survived by her husband, Buzz of Brownfield; 3 daughters, Tammy Smith and husband Jim of Lucas, Shelly Powell and husband Michael of Odessa and D'Ann Greenlee and husband Mike of Lubbock; 6 grandchildren, Tanner Smith and wife Hannah, Joshua Smith, Zachary Powell, Kaylee and Anndee Greenlee; a sister, Patsy Campbell and husband Curtis of Brownfield; her mother, Pauline Cannaday of Mt. Vernon; step-mother, Maxine McKinney of Greenville; 2 brothers, Larry Cannaday of Mt. Pleasant and Ronny McKinney of Lone Oak; mother-in-law, Ruth Steele of Brownfield.
The family suggests memorials to CASA of the South Plains or Terry County Memorial Cemetery Association.
