RL Smith

RL Smith Jr. passed away on January 16, 2021, in Brownfield. He was born on January 23, 1954, in Littlefield to Roland Lee Sr. and Dorothy Smith. RL graduated from Richland High School then went on to serve in the United States Airforce. After serving for his country RL went to Southwest Baptist Seminary where he graduated. RL was a good faithful son, brother, and father. He was a member and music minister of Bethel Baptist Church. RL is preceded in death by his father, Roland Lee Smith Sr.; sister, Fran Coleman; brother, Brent Smith; stepfather, Ted Moore. 

RL is survived by his mother, Dorothy Moore; sister, Jan and husband Michal Rotenberry; stepsisters, Sydnee and husband Paul Bertucci, Amy Moore; stepbrother Royce and wife Maxine Moore; sister-in-law, Leona Smith; 3 children, 4 grandchildren, several aunts and cousins. 

Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Payne officiating and Rev. Leland Kaimimoku assisting.  

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church under RL’s name.
