Services for Robert White, 79, of Meadow will be 10am, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Meadow Church of Christ with Bob Dupont and Les Wilks officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors Monday at the Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
Robert passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at his home in Meadow. He was born November 10, 1931 in Meadow, Texas to Carlton and Mary Lucy White. He and his family moved to Meadow in 1941. He graduated from Meadow High School. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in Korea. Robert married Donna Kaye Orr on December 26, 1950 in Lovington, NM. He had his pilot’s license at a young age. He also was a jockey in Ruidoso in his younger years. Robert farmed most of his life. He is preceded in death by a sister, Alma Ruth White. He was a member of Meadow Church of Christ.
Robert is survived by his wife, Donna of Meadow; a son, James Allen White and wife Linda of Lubbock; 2 daughters, Beth Ann Wilks and husband Les of Lubbock and Leslie Kaye Hutchinson and husband Billy of Paducah; 6 grandchildren, Malinda and husband Joe, Lauren, Sagan, Brooke, Haley and Tate; 2 sisters, Geraldine Blair of Levelland and Lucille Harris and husband Myron of Oak Park, CA.
The family suggests memorials to the Lubbock Children’s Home or charity of one’s choice.
