Rowena Elnora Beard

Services for Rowena Elnora Beard, 94, of Brownfield will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Puryear officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 Monday at the Funeral Home.
Rowena was born June 22, 1915 in Austin, Texas to B.J. and Pearl Wallace. She moved with her parents to Pleasant Valley Community in Terry County in 1922 where she also attended school. Rowena married Ernest C. Beard in Tahoka on September 23, 1936. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1986. She worked as a nurse's aide at Brownfield Regional Medical Center from 1976 to 1985. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Ann Beard in 1950.
Rowena is survived by several nieces and nephews.
