November 1, 1947 — August 19, 2012

Cecil Royce Farrar 64, passed from this life Sunday August 19, in Lubbock. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday August 23rd, at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds, Bo Shero and his brother-in-law Greg Lance officiating.

There will be a family visitation from 5-7pm Wednesday at Brownfield Funeral Home.

A graduate of Brownfield High School Royce moved to Lubbock but returned to Terry County in 1973 to pursue his favorite vocation, farming with his father. He continued in this endeavor 32 years until his retirement in 2005.
Cecil Royce and Leslie Elayne Lance were married January 16, 1971 in Lubbock.
Royce loved to cook for his family and friends, as well as tending to his garden. He was Elayne’s favorite golf partner and coach. Though a quiet and somewhat shy man, he never met a stranger and quickly became a strong and generous friend.

Those left to miss him are his wife Elayne; a daughter Jennifer Layne Matlock and husband Mark of Lubbock; a son Stacey Ryan Farrar of Seattle Washington; a beloved granddaughter Mackenzie Layne Matlock of Lubbock; a sister, Joyce Hoch and husband Bob of Trinity; a brother, Lawson Farrar and wife Debbie of Brownfield; a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins along with many friends that will miss him greatly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Mission Work of Brownfield Church of Christ.
