Sammy Castaneda

Sammy Castaneda, 50, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, was called home on September 18, 2016. He was born on August 2, 1966 in Brownfield, TX, born to Alberto and Carmine A. Castaneda. He is survived by his wife Hellen Castaneda, Son, Samuel Castaneda; Daughter, Megan Castaneda, and Son in law, Reggie McGee. He is also survived by his Mother, Carmine A. Castaneda; Father, Alberto Castaneda and Step-Mother, Janie Castaneda; brothers, Albert Castaneda, Gabby Castaneda, and Johnathan Castaneda and sister, Vicky Diaz; 2 Step Brothers, 4 Step Sisters, 4 nieces, and 6 nephews. Sammy was welcomed home by brother Anthony Castaneda.

Sammy will be missed by his extended family; Anna Maria Salas (mother in law), and his brothers and sisters in law; Frank Cervantes, Martin and Mary Fonseca, Jesse and Janie Alejandro, Estefana Martinez, Jesse and Dionisia Flores, Patrick and Julia Giorgio, Rick and Sylvia Renteria, Sandra Garcia, Ramona Salas, and Jesse Salas.

Sammy is loved, missed and will always be remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends from all over this community.

Pall Bearers will be Michael Castaneda, Godson and nephew; E.J. Garcia, nephew; Aaron Garcia, nephew; Kaleb Garcia, nephew; Michael Martinez, nephew; Christopher Castaneda; nephew, Freddie Gomez; friend,Matthew Carrizales, nephew and Jesse "Dude" Alejandro.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Church in Lubbock, on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Brownfield Cemetery and Pastor Javier Castaneda presiding.

A memorial fund in the name of Sammy Castaneda has been established at all Plains Capital Bank locations if you would like to help the family.
