Services for Winfrey Sue Ballard, 95, of Brownfield will be at 2pm, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds and Bo Shero officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7pm.
Sue passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Brownfield. She was born on October 18, 1918 in Nashville, Ark. to Samuel Luther and Myrtle Josephine (Womack) Jones. She graduated from Nashville High School. Sue married Eddie Ballard on October 22, 1954 in Lovington, NM. He preceded her in death 1974. She was the office manager for the County Appraisal District for over 25 years, retiring in 1991. She is also preceded in death by a brother Luther Womack Jones in 1993; 2 sisters, Gertrude Lowe in 2007 and Jo Jennings in 2008. She was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ.
Sue is survived by her nieces, Kelley Jennings of Lubbock, Mary Margaret Mahler of Kansas and Susie Hulen of Tyler; a nephew, Bill Jones of Branson, MO; several great nieces and nephews; many more family and friends.
The family suggests memorials to the Brownfield Church of Christ Building Fund, 502 Lubbock Road, Brownfield, TX 79316.
