Graveside services for Tess Ora Pennington, 87, formerly of Brownfield will be held at 10am Thursday, February 14, 2013 with Bob Reynolds officiating at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at Brownfield Funeral Home from 5-7 on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.
Tess passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Hurst. She was born on March 23, 1925 in Gomez to Garland and Orphia Jones. In the early 1940’s Tess married Jimmie Cornelius Bagget who preceded her in death on April 24, 1953.Tess was united in marriage on August 15, 1953 to George M. (Pat) Pennington in Brownfield. She owned and operated a grocery store for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, George M. Pennington; parents, Garland and Orphia Jones and a grandchild, Robert Murphy Pennington.
Tess is survived by her children, Sharron Gayle Shaw, Allan Dewayne Baggett and Terry Kent Pennington; step children, Coy Dean Pennington, Linda Marie Spaugh and Winford Lynn Pennington, 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild; brothers, Foy Alonzo Jones, Sidney Wayne Jones and James Robert Jones and a sister Wanda Jean Phillips.
