Services for Willie “Knox” Hinkle, 96, of Brownfield will be at 10:00am, Friday, July 8, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with burial following at Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2011 from 6-8pm at Brownfield Funeral home.
Knox passed away July 5, 2011 in Brownfield. He was born on February 4, 1915 to Willie Pratt Hinkle and Carrie Bell Brown in Azle, Texas. Knox Married Helen Ruth Gray on December 23, 1938 in Plains. He was the last surviving charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife; 7 brothers, Clarence Hinkle, Luther Hinkle, Raymond Hinkle, Jessie Hinkle, Leslie Hinkle, Elbert Hinkle, Wesley Hinkle and a sister Maye Hinkle.
Knox is survived by his son, Gerald Hinkle of Brownfield; a sister, Faye Bearden and husband Alfred; 3 sister-in-laws, Ida Hinkle of Wolfforth, Francis Upton and husband Charles of Brownfield, Nadine Mobley of Andrews; and many nieces and nephews.
