Services for Willie Maye Oliver, 99, of Lubbock will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Brownfield First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oliver was born on July 26, 1915 to William Anthony “W.A.” and Lottie Maye Smith in Knox County. She moved to Terry County at the age of 5 years old. Her extended family were residents of Wellman and Brownfield.
Mrs. Oliver married Doddie Baccus “D.B.” Oliver on February 23, 1936 in Wellman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Doddie Baccus Oliver; a daughter, Dottie Gary; parents, William Anthony and Lottie Mae Smith; a sister and 2 brothers.
Mrs. Oliver is survived by 2 daughters, Freda Thormahlen and husband Jerry of Lubbock and Dessie James and husband Vernon of Olympia, WA; a son, William “Bud” Oliver and wife Barbara of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
