Anita Hernandez

Funeral services for Anita M. Hernandez will be held at 10 am Friday, September 20, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a rosary held Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Brownfield Funeral Home starting at 7 pm.

Anita was born in Jourdanton to Emilio and Julia Martinez on January 30, 1945. She graduated from Jourdanton High School. She married Felipe G. Hernandez in Leming on May 26, 1961. Anita worked at the Brownfield Regional Medical Center for 30 years as an LVN. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Anita loved nursing and taking care of people. She also loved music, taking pictures, and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, and a granddaughter, Erica Basquez.

Anita is survived by her husband, Felipe Hernandez of Brownfield; four children, Sarah Basquez and husband, Gilbert of Brownfield, Felipe Hernandez Jr. of Seminole, Jesus Hernandez and wife Adela of Giddings, Estella Silva and husband, Joe of Brownfield; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
