Ann D'Lane Owen

January 21, 1954 — March 18, 2024

Memorial Service for Ann D'Lane Owen will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bo Shero officiating.

Ann was born on January 21, 1954, to Marshall and Mickie Breeding in Colorado Springs, CO. She left earth to join her Savior in heaven on March 18, 2024, at the age of 70.

Ann met the love of her life, Mike Owen, in college at Lubbock Christian University and they were married within the year in 1973. Initially they lived in Portales, NM, but eventually found their home in Brownfield, TX, where they raised their children and enjoyed their life for over 30 years. Last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Ann's life was one that radiated joy and selflessness. She loved God with all her heart and dedicated herself to serving others, embodying kindness and compassion in all she did. Her talents in crafting, gardening, and culinary skills brought happiness to many, with her renowned homemade pizza being cherished by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. She loved to host people in their home, and she would spend hours preparing meals and making sure that everybody got their favorite foods, even if it meant making multiple desserts. Her family says she made the best banana bread, oatmeal cookies, and gingersnaps in the world!

Beyond her talents, Ann's greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her genuine interest in others and her willingness to go the extra mile to bring joy to their lives touched the hearts of all who knew her. Additionally, her love for dogs, music, and singing added to her vibrant personality. She dearly loved her puppies and grandpuppies, who brought her such great joy. Her friends and family speak of the beautiful prayers she would pray and how special it made them feel to be prayed for by Ann. So many in Ann's life benefited from her zeal for talking to Jesus on their behalf.

Ann spoke so highly of the many wonderful doctors, nurses, and other healthcare people that contributed to her care over the past 5 years. Her family agrees that she would want them all to know how much she appreciated each and every one of them and the kindness they showed and the time they took to care for her through so many health obstacles. She stated several times that they are all very special people that God put in her life for a reason. The family has been blessed to hear that many of these healthcare professionals felt the same way about her, and felt honored to be a part of her care.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Mickie Breeding. She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Brad Owen of Lubbock; daughter, Bekki Williams and husband T of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Don Breeding and wife Cheryl, Randy Breeding, and Todd Breeding and wife Courtney.

Ann loved flowers but also cared about many other things. She donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society after her diagnosis, and it would be an honor to her if people donated to this cause as well. Feel free to honor her in whichever way you choose.
