Antonio dedicated much of his life to serving the Brownfield Independent School District as a custodian, where his steady presence was a quiet but indispensable part of the daily lives of countless students and staff. Antonio’s passions reflected a soul cherishing simple pleasures and deep loyalties. He found joy in watching movies and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, whose games were a cherished highlight he looked forward to with great anticipation. A delightful quirk of his was his absolute love for Big Red, the bright, bubbly drink that never failed to light up his smile. In moments of creativity and calm, he indulged in drawing and coloring, bringing colors to life with a gentle hand. He also had a well-known affection for shopping trips to the nearest Walmart—a personal retreat where he would sometimes sneak away from his wife, reveling in the freedom of discovery and the thrill of the hunt. Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Amalio and Concepcion Garcia; sisters, Elvia Gamez and Mary Huerta and brothers, Amalio Garcia, Jr and Ascencion Garcia.
Antonio is survived by his wife Hope Garcia; daughters, Lori Garcia (Frank) of Lubbock, Irene Garcia (Pete) of Brownfield, Isabel Jackson (Todd) of Lubbock and Lupita Sanchez (Louis) of Lubbock; sons, Tony Garcia, Jr. (Juanita) of Lubbock and Jesus Puertas of Brownfield; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Eloisa Garcia (Tony) of Wolfforth, Adelina Garcia of Lubbock, Elida Garcia of Brownfield and Connie Garcia (Abel) of Lubbock; brother, Ernie Garcia of Lubbock; uncle Elias Garcia (Louisa) Brownfield and a host of nieces and nephews.
