Barbara Maxwell Hall

Barbara Maxwell Hall was born on July 19, 1940, in Mangum, OK. She passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 85. Barbara's journey took her to Amarillo, Texas, where she spent most of her life nurturing her passions and creating lasting memories.

Barbara was not just a homemaker; she was an artist in her own right. Her love for poetry, classical music, and literature enriched her life and those around her. A talented photographer, she captured the beauty of the world through her lens, inspiring all who were fortunate enough to witness her work. Her prolific letter writing, characterized by her exquisite handwriting, brought joy and connection to many.

An ardent animal lover, Barbara found joy in the simple act of feeding the local wildlife, especially the deer and raccoons that frequented her yard. Her heart was particularly captured by her beloved cats, who provided companionship and warmth throughout her life.

Barbara will be remembered not only for her intelligence and creativity but also for her strong perspectives. She loved to travel, often visiting friends in California, where she forged deep connections.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Maxwell; husband, Robert "Bobby" Neil Hall; Mark's father, James Richard "Dick" Swoboda. She is survived by her son, Mark Swoboda and wife, Tami of Lubbock; brother, Grady Maxwell; 2 granddaughters, Mara Echols and Amanda King; 2 great-grandchildren, Chloe Echols and Caleb King; and her cat, "Precious."
