Obituary

Funeral Service for Bill Vidal Garcia will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Pastor Eliel Rosabal officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Bill was born on September 16, 1949, to Ruben and Cecilia Castillo Garcia in Brownfield, TX. He passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 76.

Bill's love for life was evident in his many passions. He was an incredible cook, known for his BBQ skills that brought family and friends together around the grill for countless gatherings. Whether it was antiquing, playing bingo, or showcasing his talent in semi-professional bowling, Bill's enthusiasm was contagious. He fondly recalled his days as a player in the Terry County Softball League and the friendships he formed there.

Bill grew up in Brownfield and owned the Terry County Body Shop for many years. He spent over four decades calling Williston, North Dakota, home. There, he built a successful career as a body shop owner, known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his unforgettable sense of humor. Bill was the life of every party-his laughter resonating like music, and his pranks leaving friends and family in stitches.

He married Collette Hendrickson in 1981, and together they shared 44 devoted years until her passing in 2025. The love they shared was a testament to their incredible bond.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Cecilia Garcia; his wife, Collete Garcia.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Olmos (Shane), Carol Geisler (Mike), Jason Garcia (Tammy), and Jacob Garcia; 3 step-children, Robin, Angie, and Virgil; 2 brothers, Joe Garcia, and Ruben Garcia (Susan); 2 sisters, Hermenia "Minnie" Ortiz (Joe), Angelita "Hella" Estorga (Sammy); 6 grandchildren, Nathan Hernandez, Adrienna Olmos, Alexis Castillo, Christian Perez, Roman Garcia, and Liliana Garcia; 6 great-grandchildren, Chloey Ava, Xavier, Aubrie, Caleb, Alyssa, and Caydence; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Ximena.
