Graveside Service for Clarence “Leslie” Branch, Jr. will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Jody O’Briant, his nephew, of New Home Baptist Church officiating. All are welcome to attend and hear about Jesus.

Clarence “Leslie” Branch, Jr., 73, of Brownfield, passed away on May 1, 2026. Leslie was born on March 7, 1953, to Clarence Leslie Branch, Sr., and Dorothy Marie (Williamson) Branch in Refugio, Texas. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1971 and worked as a janitor for several churches. He also worked for MHMR in Corpus Christi in lawn maintenance. 

Leslie came to know Jesus at an early age. His dad, Clarence, was a pastor of several churches, including Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield, so he was under the Word for many years. Part of Leslie’s testimony was that he was always smiling and laughing, even when he was hurting. He was born with a learning deficit, but he never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He loved riding his motorcycle, collecting knives, playing bingo at the rehab and care center, winning his sister jewelry, and telling tall tales. Leslie was a member of Challis Baptist Church in Brownfield, where his brother-in-law, Dale Matlock, is pastor. 

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Branch. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Matlock, and her husband, Dale, as well as aunts, nephews, nieces, and many cousins.
