Claude was born on November 13, 1937, to Mack and Ruby Chambers in Brownfield, TX. He passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 88.
Claude graduated from Wellman High School in 1956, where he made memories on the basketball court and fostered lifelong friendships. He married his soulmate, Bobbie June Moore, on December 19, 1959, and together they cherished 66 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Raised on a farm, he instilled the values of hard work and perseverance in his family, and he and June continued to cultivate these values as they moved their family to Austin in 1970.
Claude dedicated 30 years of his life as a Technician in Audiovisual Services at the University of Texas, where his talent and dedication left a lasting impact. Known affectionately as "Mr. Fix It," he was always there to lend a helping hand to his daughters, Claudia and Lisa, tackling projects big and small with enthusiasm and expertise.
An outgoing man with a great sense of humor, Claude embraced life with a positivity that inspired everyone around him. He found joy in simple pleasures, including Saturdays spent watching his favorite westerns on "Saddle-up Saturday." A Dallas Cowboys fan, he enjoyed lively discussions about football, always ready to cheer on his team.
Claude will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and upbeat nature, often responding to inquiries about his well-being with a characteristic smile and his signature line, "I'm doing good for the shape that I'm in.”
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ruby Chambers; daughter, Mary Jane Chambers; 3 brothers, Clevis, Clifford, and Cecil; 3 sisters, Cleo, Louise, and Doris. He is survived by his wife, June Chambers; 2 daughters, Claudia Esparza and Lisa Dickerson; brother, Carl Chambers (Bonnie); 3 grandsons, Robert Esparza (Jessica), Nathan Dickerson, and Ben Dickerson; and great-grandson, Jaxson Esparza.
