Conrad Wayne Cabe

Services for Conrad Wayne Cabe, 72, of Meadow will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Brownfield Church of Christ with Derek McNamara and Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Conrad passed away Monday, August 6, 2007 in Lubbock. He was born May 11, 1935 to Thomas Carl and Vida Lorene Cabe in Lynn County, TX in the Draw Community. He and his parents moved to Terry County in 1936. They lived in the Foster Community. In 1938 he moved to the Tokio area for 3 years and then back to the Brownfield area. Conrad graduated from Wellman High School in 1953. He was one of the players on the first football team at Wellman High. He married Norma Dean Fore June 5, 1954 in Brownfield. She preceded him in death March 23, 2002. He then married Janelda Ann Carroll Pendergrass Dec. 30, 2003 in Lubbock. Conrad worked in fuel delivery for Mason Oil Co., and then the United States Post Office for 13 years. He carried a city route and then was the Superintendent of Mail for 7 years. In 1980 he was appointed to the Postmaster's position where he served 10 years. He also was in the construction business. Conrad had been a member of Brownfield Church of Christ since 1954. He served as a deacon for over 40 years and taught bible classes from pre-school to adult. He also helped with the building and grounds for many years.
Conrad is survived by his wife Janelda of Meadow; 3 daughters, Patti McGuire of Coppell, Sandy Meeks and her husband Brian of San Angelo and Karla Hope and her husband Richard of Lubbock; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer McGuire, Kevin & Audrey Meeks, Jared, Landon & Ragan Hope; 2 brothers, Carl Cabe of Brownfield and Larry Cabe of Burley, ID; his extended family, Brent & Teresa Pendergrass and their children Ty & Ally, Bret & Susan Pendergrass and their children Whitney & Jay, Paul & Carol Hise and their children Jordan & Jacey and Dennis & Jill Williamson and their children Leslie & Alec.
Memorials may be made to the Brownfield Church of Christ Building Fund, World Bible School or charity of ones choice.
