Funeral Service for Gary Corwin Rigdon will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Seaton and Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Gary was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, dedicated funeral director, and cherished member of the Brownfield community. Gary, born on October 20, 1982, in Dumas, Texas, left us peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 42, and ran into the arms of Jesus.

Gary's journey was marked by service and compassion. After proudly serving in the United States Army from 2002 to 2005, where he defended our country and the freedom of others in Iraq and Kosovo, he pursued his passion for helping others in their most vulnerable moments. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2007 and soon became the manager at Brownfield Funeral Home. In 2014, he and his beloved wife, Tina, purchased the funeral home, continuing a legacy of care and support for grieving families in their community. Gary's faith and dedication centered the funeral home's mission on God's love and service to others.

Gary's relationship with Tina was a beautiful partnership that blossomed in mortuary school in 2006. They were married in 2007 and shared a life built on love, respect, and shared purpose. Together, they created a sanctuary of healing for families, guiding them with grace and compassion during their times of need. His four children and his grandson were the highlight of his life, and he loved them well.

Outside of his professional life, Gary was a skilled craftsman, enjoying woodworking, forging knives, and leatherworking. These hobbies reflected his creativity and attention to detail, which shone through in all he did, both personally and professionally.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Wanda Riseley, and Dwayne and Gloria Rigdon; and by his uncle, Randy Riseley. He is survived by his wife, Tina Rigdon; parents, CD and Gayla Rigdon; children, Aspyn Rigdon, Blake Rigdon, Danielle Griffin and husband, Stephen, and Gage Rigdon and wife, Samantha; grandson, Jonah Griffin; brother, Zach Pate; mother-in-law, Barbara Cunningham; brother-in-law, Wayne Cunningham and wife, Jennifer; nephews, Grayson, Josh, Elliot, Ethan, Dakota, Nate, and Cooper; and numerous extended family and friends.

Our family would like to extend a special thanks to Brownfield Family Physicians and staff for going above and beyond in their efforts and kindness. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the Joe Arrington Oncology department, Covenant Medical Center doctors and staff, our wonderful Brownfield Funeral Home staff, and our Community who have prayed and encouraged Gary and our family throughout his cancer diagnosis and treatment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Providing Life Ministries, PO Box 1047, Plains, TX 79355. Donations made in Gary's memory will be dedicated to the ongoing ministry of providing funerals for young children at no cost to their families.
