Memorial Services for Glenda Darlene Smith, 65, will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating.

Glenda passed away on February 7, 2024, in her hometown of Brownfield, TX. She was born on September 1, 1958, to Robert Gayle Rockwell and Dora Evone Roberts.

Glenda's life was marked by her warm and outgoing personality. She had a natural ability to connect with others, making lifelong friendships wherever she went. As a devoted sister and mother, Glenda always put her family first. She had a kind and nurturing spirit, becoming a surrogate mother to her children’s friends, who affectionately regarded her as a second mom.

One of Glenda's great passions was reading. She found solace and inspiration within the pages of countless books, eagerly sharing her favorite stories with those around her. Additionally, Glenda took great joy in attending Sunday School and participating in the activities of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Throughout the years, Glenda's adventure of life led her to relocate from Brownfield, TX, to Lompoc, CA. In California, she developed cherished friendships and still maintained a strong bond with her extended family there. Glenda's warm heart and infectious enthusiasm brightened the lives of all who knew her.

A special mention must be made of Glenda's great-nephew, Zaidyn, who held a significant place in her heart. Zaidyn lovingly referred to her as "Auntie G," highlighting the special connection they shared.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; a brother & sister-in-law, Olen & Jan Dodson; a son, Dustin Smith; a nephew, Cody Dodson; and a niece, Drew Carlton.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ashley Smith and Shannon Smith; a brother, Robert Rockwell; 2 sisters, Audrie Willis and husband Glenn, and Maudie Kidd; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
