Joe Audon Gutierrez

Joe Audon Gutierrez was born on April 16, 1940, to Eulalio and Faustina Ortiz Gutierrez in Cedar Creek, TX. He passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 85. Cremation services are entrusted to the care of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Joe will be remembered for his warm spirit and infectious smile. He had a special knack for making every person he met feel like an old friend, never shying away from a conversation with anyone. His generosity of spirit and welcoming nature left lasting impressions on all who crossed his path.

Joe was a voracious reader, finding joy in the written word. He shared this love with his family, often introducing them to new worlds through books. He had a unique bond with his sisters, each lovingly receiving a special nickname that reflected his deep care and affection for them.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Faustina Gutierrez; a son, Rene Gutierrez; 2 brothers, Jesus Gutierrez and Eulalio Gutierrez Jr.; 4 sisters, Olivia Herrera, Maria Reyna, Sofia Cabrera, and Linda Rayas. He is survived by a son, Oscar Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, TX; a daughter, Joleen Audrey Gutierrez of Midland, TX; 5 sisters, Patsy Flores of Brownfield, Lupe Salas of Brownfield, Janie Miranda of Brownfield, Yolanda Gutierrez of Brownfield, and Josie Gutierrez of Chicago, IL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rest in peace, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and grandpaw. Till we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
