John Howard Huckabee

Services for John Howard Huckabee will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Terrilyn Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.

John was born on March 11, 1970, in Littlefield, TX, to Gary Wayne and Barbara Ann Huckabee. He passed away on June 18, 2024, in Brownfield, TX, at the age of 54.

John graduated from Littlefield High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University. He married Lily Wallace on February 13, 2009, in Brownfield, and they shared 13 years together before her passing in 2022.

Known for his quirky, cool personality, John will be remembered as someone who always brightened the room with his presence. His family fondly recalls him as "one cool Dude" and admired his deep love for his dogs, particularly his beloved Dusty, whom he considered as his "son." His family was his priority, and he was a loving grandpa, uncle, son, and brother, adored by all who knew him.

John, a Navy veteran, was respected by peers and loved ones alike. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and humor that will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everet and Opal (Smith) Huckabee, and Howard and Joyce (Greathouse) Campbell; father, Gary Huckabee; and his wife, Lily Huckabee.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Huckabee Archer and her husband Barry of Lubbock; 2 daughters, Stormy Huckabee and fiancé, Caleb Felton of Lubbock and Rene Harrell of Brownfield; son, Chris Moss of Midland; 2 sisters, Elaine Fausset and her husband, Roy and their children, Hailey and Tiffany of Center Point, and Allison Clayton and her partner Cary, and daughter, Abigail of Lubbock; 5 grandchildren, Austin, Lilly, Izyabella, Paisleigh, and Pierce.
